What is Glycolic Acid?

Glycolic Acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that is derived from sugar cane. It is highly regarded as the miracle worker of skin care products because it effectively treats numerous skin conditions. Glycolic Acid has a unique advantage because it has the smallest molecular structure of all the AHAs. This enables it to easily penetrate the top layer of the skin to treat fine lines, acne, enlarged pores, blackheads, dullness, oiliness, rough skin texture and so much more.

There are several skin care products (such as lotions, creams, cleansers and serums) that contain glycolic acid but none of them have a concentration of 70% glycolic acid. This peel is recommended for those who have successfully tolerated our 50% Glycolic Acid peel and would like something stronger. Those new to chemical peels should not start with a 70% Glycolic Acid Peel.

Benefits of 70% Glycolic Acid Chemical Peel

 Exfoliates and Refines Skin Texture

This 70% Glycolic Acid will dissolve the “glue” that holds the old, rough, dry, dead skin cells that sit on the surface of the skin. When these dead skin cells are sloughed away, the fresh new layer of smooth skin underneath is visible. The 70% Glycolic peel is for experienced users only. Please be aware that visible peeling is likely to occur.

Ideal for Coarse, Resistant Skin or Full Body Exfoliation

This 70% Glycolic Acid Peel is ideal for full body exfoliation to resurface the skin and promote a brighter, smoother complexion. The skin on the body is thicker than the skin on the face. It is sometimes necessary to use a stronger chemical peel to effectively penetrate the thicker layers of body skin, such as the elbows, knees, back and legs. This 70% Glycolic Acid peel is strong enough to exfoliate and texturize coarse, resistant skin.

Brightens Skin Tone, Fades Discoloration, Restores Sun Damaged Skin

As the 70% Glycolic acid exfoliates the top layer of skin, the smoother, brighter skin tone underneath will be revealed. To further enhance the skin lightening process, this peel is formulated with proven skin whitening agents: Kojic Acid, Bearberry, Mulberry and Licorice. They work simultaneously to fade dark spots and correct hyperpigmentation. The peel will not bleach the skin but it promotes clarity to reveal a brighter, even-toned complexion.

Purges the Skin of Toxins, Oil & Acne Causing Bacteria

Glycolic Acid is a very effective acne treatment. It has the ability to go beyond the surface of the skin to eliminate germs, toxins and dead cells from the skin’s surface. Glycolic Acid helps to fight acne as it penetrates the skin’s epidermis to remove the debris from sebum filled follicles, unclog pores and eliminate blackheads.

Excellent for Anti-Aging as it Fights Wrinkles and Restores Youthful Appearance

The 70% Glycolic Acid peel will help to increase skin cell turnover on the surface of the skin as it stimulates new collagen and elastin. Once the glycolic penetrates inside the skin cells it ignites the formation of new collagen and this in turn reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It allows the healthier skin cells to be more visible on the surface so the skin looks younger and more refined. Glycolic Acid also forays the signs of aging as it allows the skin to become thicker, tighter and more firm.

Glycolic Acid, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Kojic Acid, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi (Bearberry), Morus Alba (White Mulberry) Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract

 Will the Peel Burn?

With a 70% Glycolic Acid Peel you will feel some stinging and a heat sensation during application of the peel. This will subside as soon as the solution is neutralized and washed off.

Will My Skin Peel?

The 70% Glycolic Acid Peel will cause visible skin peeling. The first 2-3 days after the peel your skin will look red and feel tight and leathery. You will begin to peel approximately 48-72 hours after the peel. The skin peeling generally lasts 2-7 days. There is no pain while the skin is peeling but your skin will look like you have a severe sunburn.

How long is the Healing time?

The healing time for each person will vary as everyone’s skin is different. Here is a summary of what to expect. If you apply the 70% Glycolic Acid Peel on a Monday, your skin should start peeling on Wednesday or Thursday. The skin will stop peeling 2 to 7 days AFTER THE PEELING STARTED (not 2-7 days after you first applied the peel).

How Do I Apply a Chemical Peel?

This is the most common question that we get from those new to chemical peels. Chemical peels can be easily applied at home if you follow the directions carefully. The peel comes with a detailed instruction sheet that’s easy to follow. Basically, a chemical peel application involves:

  1. Cleansing the skin
  2. Applying the peel
  3. Let the peel remain on the skin for the recommended time
  4. Rinse with cold water
  5. Wear moisturizer and sunscreen for a few days after the peel

At-Home chemical peels are great but they are not for everyone. Before purchasing this product please be sure to carefully read all the warnings and precautions.

Do NOT Use this Peel if:

  1. You have sensitive skin or do not know how to apply At-Home Chemical Peels. Please note that the 70% Glycolic Acid Peel is for those with coarse, resistant, problematic, mature or very oily skin. It is NOT for those with ultra-sensitive skin or those new to at-home chemical peels.
  2. You are not willing to read the instructions and fully understand the risks and restrictions associated with the healing process
  3. You have used hair removal products, waxes, scrubs, Retin A, tretinoin products, or other exfoliating agents on the intended treatment area 48 hours prior to the peel
  4. You have sunburn, skin allergies, skin grafts, recent surgery, open wounds, lesions, inflamed skin or very sensitive skin
  5. You are pregnant or nursing
  6. You currently take Accutane (isotretinoin) or have within the past 6 months
  7. You have an STD such as Herpes, HIV, AIDS or similar condition
  8. You are on immune suppressant drugs
  9. Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation
  10. You are prone to keloid scars
  11. If you are susceptible to cold sores, chemical peels may increase the chance of an outbreak. Taking antiviral medicine prior to the peel may decrease the risk of an outbreak
  12. You have unrealistic expectations. Multiple applications may be required to achieve optimum results

  1. Excellent For Age Spots

Posted by Jessica on 18th Sep 2015

My skin appears much brighter and "age" spots are nearly gone. Even my hands look a lot younger too, without the brown spots that is. I highly recommend and can see this is going to be one of my favorite products.

  2. Great for Scars

This product does the job. I had a bit of scaring on my chin and the side of my face. They are starting to fade also. I have also noticed my complexion is brighter and much softer. Great value and fast shipping.
