Kligman’s formula skin lightening body cream, is based on the discovery of Dr. Albert Kligman, a famous US dermatologist who invented the widely used acne medication Retin-A. In addition Dr. Kligman also created the most guaranteed skin lightening combination. Kligman’s Formula is a skin lightening formulation that consists of hydroquinone + Retin A + corticosteroid.

The combination of these ingredients results in a potent skin lightening formulation that can be used to treat conditions involving hyperpigmentation, melasma, age spots and scars.

ProDerma Light has improved on Kligman’s Formula to create the ultimate skin lightening product that consists of: 5% Hydroquinone + Retin A 0.1% + Corticosteroid (betamethasone dipropionate 0.065%)

Additional Information

The ingredients in ProDerma Light Kligman’s formula are designed to work together.

  • The hydroquinone helps to stop the formation of pigmentation by inhibiting tyrosine, the enzyme responsible for the production of melanin.

  • Retin A helps to stimulate the production of healthy, new skin cells and it may also assist with the absorption of hydroquinone.

  • Betamethasone dipropionate is a mild steroid, which is incorporated to help the active ingredients to work faster and to minimize skin irritation.

Typical Application Apply to freshly cleansed skin twice per day
Precautions & Safety
  • This cream is recommended for the body only and not the face. Body creams are usually made from a base that contains oils. We ask you to use it on your body only as breakouts are more likely if oil clogs the pores.

  • The common side effects associated with the application of Retinoids include: Redness, peeling, or feeling of warmth; sensitivity to sunlight; skin irritation; stinging at application site. Source:http://www.drugs.com/sfx/retin-a-side-effects.html

  • It must be emphasized that you MUST wear sunscreen when using Kligman’s formula skin lightening cream because hydroquinone and Retin A makes the skin sensitive to UV rays.

  • Retin A should NOT be used by pregnant women! Read why from our source:http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/acnetreatment.html

  • Hydroquinone is not recommended for those with liver or kidney disease

  • The effects of hydroquinone use on fetal development is not known, so if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, you should not use it.

  • Nursing mothers should also avoid using hydroquinone, as it is also unknown whether the medication can pass through the breast milk and cause harm to the baby.
